Our Coaches

Rob Klotzbach

Coach Rob Klotzbach was born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y., and attended the University of Buffalo, where he played Division I baseball and graduated with a bachelors degree in marketing.  He and his wife Diane and daughter Kylie moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1997.  Rob is the owner of two local small businesses.  He began helping with swimming in 2005 as a Hy-tek operator, team treasurer, vice chairman, and chairman.  He began coaching Spruce Creek High School Swim Team in 2013.  Coach Rob founded Racers Swim Team in 2014 with two swimmers, and the team has grown steadily under his leadership.  Coach Rob is a motivator who works tirelessly to provide a positive atmosphere for his swimmers.   He is a coach member of USA Swimming and a Level 2 ASCA swim coach.

Anne Grams

Coach Anne Grams swam as a youngster in south Georgia and has been swimming ever since.  She graduated from Florida State University with bachelor and PhD degrees in mathematics.  She has morphed from a university math teacher, to a mom, to a homeschool teacher, to a swim official and swim coach.  Since moving with her husband Bill to the Daytona Beach area in 1980, she has taught swim lessons, coached masters swimmers and high school swimmers, and now all age swimmers with Racers.  Her goal is for her swimmers to love the sport and work to achieve their maximum potential. Coach Anne is a coach member of USA Swimming and a Level 2 ASCA swim coach.  She has four children, all of whom are swimmers.

Roxanne Balducci

​Coach Roxanne Balducci recently moved to Florida after coaching age group and high school swimmers for 37 years in South Texas.  She is still passionate about working with swimmers to help them reach their highest potential both in the pool and outside the pool.  She likes watching them blossom to the level they want to reach, while having fun and making lifelong friends.  Her club swimmers have achieved individual championships at various post-season meets such as Senior Champs and Zones.  In addition, she has had many swimmers over the years selected to participate on Zones teams, All-Stars teams, Mexico vs. USA All-Stars teams, and at the Diversity Camp in Colorado Springs.  Her high school teams won Districts 33 times and Regionals nine times, accomplishments that contributed to her receiving the NISCA Lifetime Achievement Award and selection into membership in the Rio Grande Valley Sports Hall of Fame.

Bethany McClelland

​Coach Bethany McClelland grew up surrounded by water. Her three older sisters were all swimmers. At age three, she followed their lead and swam in her first summer league meet. At age six, she started to swim year round, and the rest is history. She continued swimming through high school and earned a Division 1 scholarship. She has many years of experience coaching and teaching swimming. One of her best coaching moments was being selected to coach Team Florida at the Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, Washington. She enjoys sharing her love of swimming with children and adults of all ages and abilities. Her children, Brock and Anabelle, enjoy swimming and are Racers members.

John Stearns

Coach John Stearns has been a fixture in this area for many years, but he arrived here in a round-about way.  Born in Denver, Colorado, Coach John grew up in Michigan where he excelled as a sprint freestyler in junior and senior high school.  After college, he moved back to Denver, teaching P.E. and starting a swim team while there.  Desiring a change and wanting to be near the ocean, Coach John moved to New Smyrna Beach.  He purchased the Aqua Park pool and started various aquatic programs including water aerobics, synchronized swimming, and water polo.  He also taught elementary school and coached New Smyrna Beach High Swim Team.  Currently, in addition to coaching all Racers groups, Coach John has a thriving swim lessons business.  He has 60 years experience teaching and coaching swimmers and loves what he does!
